It’s true, we eat meat grown in Israel. But, the fact is, we’re also eating animals grown on American soil.
I don’t know why everyone is so shocked. Sure, you’ve always had to choose between buying meat grown in “the good old USA” or buying one produced by “the evil empire” (if you call someone with a mustache an empire). But, have you ever asked yourself why there’s so much outrage? We Americans are just as American as the rest of the world (or at least the rest of the U.S.A.) but we don’t really seem to mind.
No, we do not mind. At least not lately. We are Americans, we take pride in being the most patriotic people on Earth, and we are all for the same things. But, it is also true that, we have a very different way of life and we are so very proud of it.
So we have no issues with our meat grown in Israel. But, the people who are outraged at the idea that someone like us, who has lived in the U.S.A. for decades, might not be so American, are the ones who never traveled to Israel, or at least its parts, before. So this is why we are so happy to hear that you Americans are so proud of our American way of life, and that you love America too.
This is not to say that every American is proud of the Jewish way of life. But I think it is fair to say that there is no one who does not love our country’s food. In fact, it is the very essence of who we are. It is also fair to say that we are not too proud to admit that our favorite dishes, meat, and kosher wine are not necessarily the norm in America.
That is, until a few years ago when the number of people who could afford to eat in the traditional way of kosher was so low that it was almost impossible for non-Orthodox Jews to do so. Now the number of people who can afford to eat meat is on the rise again, and many non-Orthodox people are coming to realize how good that kosher food is.
When kosher food is so good, there are some folks who want to try it, and if that is what you want, you can get meat grown in israel. For those who don’t care to eat meat, it seems that the people who run diners are interested in the same things you are. For those who enjoy fine dining, the number of people who make it a priority to try a particular dish is on the rise again.
The new Israeli and American diners are very different, but they share one goal: to make sure the people who eat their food are happy. The new diners are trying to improve on the standard, so they’re doing an excellent job of that, but they’re not trying to imitate anything. This is probably because they know the people who run the restaurants aren’t going to make the same mistakes, and they know that all the people they serve are probably going to want to try their food.
The new Israeli and American diners are both really new to the concept of “dining out.” The Israeli diners are the first in the chain, and the first to serve a vegetarian menu. The Americans are the first in the chain, and the first to serve a meat-based menu. We assume that the Israeli diners are using a more “natural” way of preparing their food, as opposed to the traditional way.
