The word “chilblains” has become synonymous with chronic muscle pain, especially in the feet. Many people equate chilblains with the medical term rhabdo. In reality, however, they are not associated with the common cold, but with a lack of vitamin C. It is actually the lack of vitamin C that can lead to rhabdo.
While rhabdo is common, it is not the only vitamin deficiency that can lead to chilblains. Vitamin C is also essential for the immune system. If you’re deficient in vitamin C your immune system will suffer, and you’ll not be able to fight off viruses or bacteria. People with chilblains have a hard time with their body’s ability to fight off infections.
I remember reading that chilblains are more common in people with low levels of vitamin C, and that it can be caused by dieting, smoking, stress, and being a vegetarian. So I think vitamin C is somewhat of a mystery.
Vitamin C has other uses. I know I can make my chilblains less painful by supplementing with vitamin C. In fact, research has shown that vitamin C helps the body fight off infections.
The main issue is that we don’t really know what causes chilblains. It could be stress, genetics, or dieting. I’ve heard that people with chilblains are more likely to get diabetes, but that’s just my own experience.
My chilblains are caused by damage to the skin with the vitamin C. The vitamin C is also important in the metabolism of calcium and iron. The problem is that the vitamin C causes my chilblains to become painful, which means I have to take more calcium and iron supplements.
In addition to chilblains, there is another vitamin deficiency that is often overlooked. What’s called an “iron deficiency anemia” is a condition where the body cannot produce sufficient amounts of iron to be able to sustain life. The reason is that the body cannot make the iron that it needs.
This is one of the most common vitamin deficiencies in the world, affecting people of all ages, races, and genders. It’s also one of the most under-appreciated conditions, so I wanted to share a few things that can help you combat it.
iron is a mineral found in all foods. In your body you will need about 30 percent of your body mass iron. Too much iron will cause fatigue, weakness, and even death. When you’re anemic the red blood cells will not have enough iron to carry oxygen to the cells. This can result in anemia. Anemia is a condition that often goes unnoticed by the general population. It’s estimated that anemia affects about 19 million adults in the United States alone.
Iron deficiency can occur because of a variety of factors. These include: iron in processed foods, poor iron absorption, anemia from aplastic anemia, and other medical conditions. When you have an iron deficiency, it can occur for a variety of reasons, including autoimmune conditions. But iron deficiency can also result from a lack of iron in a meal.
