The more you know someone, the more they know you, right? I have to admit that I am a bit of a loner in the office. I prefer not to socialize as much as I do at home, but when I do have to connect with people, I am the first to realize if I need to talk to someone, I should go to the office first.
I do this for a couple of reasons. First, I’m a person who has a great deal of difficulty making new friends. I have a very difficult time meeting new people (especially when they are my age), and I also don’t want to run into people that I don’t know. Second, I’ve watched too many horror movies over the last few years and I’ve developed a terrible fear of death.
Well, yeah, not only do you have to go to work first because you don’t want to run into people you dont know, but the next time you hear someone say one of those phrases, remember that the person is just trying to make their point for them. It doesn’t matter what you think. The people you are talking with do not need to know you. You do not have to say anything, but it is best to avoid making eye contact at all costs.
The thing is, you can avoid making eye contact at all costs, but if it is your choice to do so, you can’t avoid making it. For example, I am very good at avoiding making eye contact, but you’re right that I think it’s a good idea to look at my watch the whole time. You might feel like you have to touch me, but that’s because you don’t want to be reminded that you’ve been staring at me all day.
I get that. Its a good feeling. The problem is that if you make eye contact because youre trying to communicate something you dont want to say, that makes you look like a really weird person. What you might want to do is look at your watch for a second more than you have to, rather than looking at me, and then look away as fast as you can. Thats how I do it.
I had a roommate once who was like that. When she looked at her watch she would say, “Well, I have to go now. I’ll see you in 10 minutes”. She was so weird that if I ever see her I’m like, “You’re weird”. Now its just me and you and the dogs, and we all have to eat.
You don’t have to look away, but you do have to take a second to realize that you are not alone. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, and it starts with memory loss. And as it gets worse, people lose more and more of their short-term memory and get confused and forget events that might not even be true. You can lose a lot of things in life, but you don’t notice them or think about them until they’re gone.
The thing that makes Alzheimers so insidious is that there is a biological component to it. The brain is the most complex organ in the body, so the likelihood of something happening is heightened by the fact that things you can’t control can happen. But it is also the most malleable part of the body. This means that the more you eat right, the better life becomes, and the more you drink, the worse things get.
Alzheimers is more of a neurological disorder than anything else. As such, people with the disease suffer from a variety of symptoms, including memory loss, which in turn leads to problems with language and thinking. While it is possible that these symptoms are the result of the disease itself, the fact that it causes these symptoms only helps to make it seem more dire and scary.
I don’t know if Alzheimer’s is a hereditary disease or not, but I do know that we are all born with a certain amount of genetic predisposition to the disease. As such, it is entirely possible that the disease is caused by something in our genes that predisposes us to an increase in the amount of amyloid beta protein.
