I’ve been a teething parent since I was 8, and like most of you, I’m sure I’ve been there more times than I’d like. (This isn’t to say I’m always there. I’m a lot like a dog. I’m there for the fun of it, and there’s no shame in that.
If you have a child who is teething, you know how frustrating it can be. For most of us, teething means a lot of fuss and time. Im not going to be a person who just sits there and lets them get it themselves. I want to be there first and ask them what is wrong. Sometimes, though, Im going to have to get them to do it themselves, and that can be a lot of work.
You see, teething means not acting on the little ones. And Im not just talking about the baby teeth. I mean getting them to eat. Its not that they cant eat, its just that they dont have the attention span or attention to pay. Its the job of the teething tablet to set up the timing of when to eat so that you can control when and with what you eat.
In the last few years there has been a resurgence of the use of teething tablets, which are usually sold as a set of small tablets that you can take to work, school, or anywhere else where you will need to get something done.
The idea behind the tablets is that they can give you enough advance notice to plan your meal and get it to happen before your child is hungry. The downside is that some kids are not ready to eat at the time they were meant to, so you may have to wait until they are. If you have a few kids who arent that keen on dinner, then you can find ways to go around this.
The idea is that these tablets will probably come in handy in the future when you start to need to take them to school, but for now, they are the only way to keep your kid fed during the day.
I’ve been using these for a few years now, and they are actually pretty useful since my son has been teething for the last few months. They help him get his teeth and gums ready for the next time he needs to eat, and they also help him stay off of a lot of the toxic stuff in the environment, so it helps his teeth and gums heal faster.
I have one in my bag, but I think that these are better than the real thing. It’s not a permanent fix, so if you get them back, you can replace the tablet, but you won’t be able to use it as a normal toothbrush (you have to use it to clean your teeth).
My teeth don’t hurt as much as mine have in the past (I had a lot of tooth-pulling at some point) but I don’t think that it is long-term (unless I stop eating or whatever). I think it is the teething tablets making me sensitive to so much, but I also do feel a little bit of an after-effect, just like I did just after I started taking the meds.
The pills seem to be working for most people, but the meds don’t seem to have any effect on the number of times a person takes them. However, if you are taking them for chronic pain, then you may want to think about it. Painkillers can be addictive, and sometimes when you’re taking them, you get a little bit of a jolt of “this is what I normally do, I have to do it over and over again”.
