I saw this on Pinterest and thought it’d be a tasty addition to this week’s recipe, but then I saw that it was the first recipe I had ever written. So I made it and here it is.
Like the title says, this recipe is for me and my husband’s wedding anniversary and it can be made in under an hour and it is the perfect way to start or end the day.
The recipe is a basic one using an 8-oz. can of chickpeas in sesame oil. I recommend using frozen if your canning supplies are limited. This recipe is best served while the weather is nice (it gets too hot and stuff to make it in the can).
I’ve been asked to make this recipe before. I’ve made it several times now and the process works best when the weather is nice. Also during the summer it’s best to use a canning jar in place of the small quart jar.
I had the pleasure of making this recipe and it was so good. The canning jar was the key. For one, it allowed me to have the canned chickpeas already prepared. Also a quart jar can be reused as a canning jar. For the other reason, this recipe is my go-to for starting a new canning project or for doing a large batch of a recipe. If I dont have sesame oil around, I always make this recipe with blackstrap molasses.
This recipe is a bit of a cheat. I used to make this recipe quite often, and was very good at it. But as I have gotten older and began more and more using all natural ingredients, my memory of the recipe has faded. Now if you have any questions about this recipe, feel free to ask me.
Well, I know what you’re thinking. “If you use sesame oil, does this recipe make you more or less likely to choke?” I’m not really sure if this is a myth or if this recipe is safe for all humans. I’ve made it with both my kids, but I’m a bit concerned about the choking hazard.
I know what you’re thinking, but I would like to reassure you that yes, the recipe is safe for people of all ages and body types. All you need is a teaspoon or two of sesame oil and a glass of water. Don’t worry, it will be tasty and healthy.
The recipe is as safe as peanut butter and jelly, but you don’t need a whole jar of the stuff just for this. If you don’t have a spoon, just use a plastic spoon. I do agree that it is tempting to use sesame oil (not peanut butter, please) just for the flavor, but it can be dangerous, it can actually be addictive, and it can make you a bit nauseous.
Yeah, but it can be delicious and healthy. I think it’s just too bad that the peanut butter people dont like it and try to turn it into a super evil thing.
