I’ve been in the same position for a few months now: I’m a lightshrink, always on the go. I work with a partner who’s a moderate lightshrink, but a few months ago my partner was diagnosed with a severe form of low back pain and it required an immediate surgery. It was a nightmare, and it took the entire day for her to walk in to the hospital and get ready for surgery.
Now I’m in a similar situation, I’m on my way to the hospital and my partner is waiting for me, we’re having a nice chat on the phone, then I go and she’s gone. It’s a little scary, but its also nice to have her there. I imagine I’ll be in a similar situation in a while, and that scares me too.
I don’t know if you’ve ever had your back pain so bad that it was preventing you from walking or doing anything, but I imagine it’s a pretty common experience when you’re dealing with chronic pain. I know I’d feel a lot worse if I had to spend a whole day in the hospital because I’d be unable to get around.
I wish there was a simple trick to get those days of walking and doing what I wanted to do out. I was thinking of getting a cane but I doubt I’d really be able to get out of bed or do the simplest of tasks like going grocery shopping.
In a perfect world, you’d be able to get a cane or a walker to use to get around without the need for pain meds, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. Pain medication does slow your recovery time, but there are a lot of side effects to use and some drugs can actually be addictive.
At least in the case of pain meds, these side effects are generally minor. Some days I was able to walk my dog without my shoes on for a full day. I could probably walk the dog on my own in my socks, but that doesn’t really help with walking across a room or to a restaurant or back home.
Lightshrinking is a way to help people who suffer from chronic pain, or who are in chronic pain but don’t have access to high-quality painkillers. The idea is you put some light into the eyes and your pain will be slowly but surely erased. This is achieved by placing one of the bright LED lights around your eyes and then placing a small square inside your iris to reflect light and block out light. It works by forcing the pain to diffuse into the light.
Lightshrinking may sound silly, but its actually a very practical solution to the problem of chronic pain. In fact, there are over 100,000 devices in the world that are advertised as lightshrinking.
The idea is that the light shrinking gadget works by simply placing a small LED within your iris. Even though the device is not cheap, there are light shrinking devices that cost thousands of dollars. A recent study conducted by the Italian Institute of Physics (IP) found that the LED light shrinking device reduced pain by up to 20% in the first 5 years of use.
The light shrinking gadget sounds great, but what does it actually do? While it is true that your eyes can take in an incredible amount of light, you probably won’t notice the difference if you just ignore the pain. If you’re looking at a bright light that you don’t notice, it’s likely that you need to look away. The thing is that your eyes can do this even with pain, but you still have to pay attention to it.
