I can’t wait until my next visit to my dermatologist because I’m sure that he/she will tell me that a hidradenitis suppurativa over the counter treatment is the best thing for me. I have been dealing with this for years and it has become my life-long routine.
That’s a good thing, because it means I can now go on a high-dose steroids dose of steroids (the same one you should definitely take to treat hidradenitis suppurativa) and feel no pain when I do. The only downside is that it can cause a rash, so it must be combined with other treatments.
There’s no downside as long as you know there’s a downside because that’s what the trade off’s are. I mean I’m sure you can tell this is a long and tedious process, but honestly I’m fine with being on the right side of the trade. I don’t know how other people are going to feel about all that talk about the side effects or risk of side effects, but here’s the thing: it’s not going to keep me from having a good time.
If you’re unsure of how to get rid of the rash, try hiding it with a condom. The rash itself is pretty benign, but the condom can help. Another downside to hidradenitis is that you have to take it with a prescription, but this is easily fixed by taking the pills in the morning before you go to work (that way you can just wait for it to wear off).
I’m not sure if its just my memory or something but I have a bad habit of forgetting the pill I took for my hidradenitis, so if I need to take it again I’ll have to wait until the next day to take it.
I always thought the idea of treating your hidradenitis with a condom was a bit strange because you can get it from a doctor without a prescription. I guess I was wrong. Apparently a condom can be used to treat hidradenitis, but you have to be careful. The best way is to use a condom at night when you sleep, and then use it one day in the morning to cover it up when you wake up to take your pills.
This is what i meant. I’m sure my doctor will have a better idea.
Now that I’ve read the article, I have to say I’m a little disappointed. As far as the risks of using a condom with the disease goes, I am not an expert on this, but I have heard that condoms do not protect against it, so it’s best to use a condom when you go to bed, and then use it again in the morning.
But since it is such an important part of sex, I suppose you can’t really stop people from using it. So no, this is not a real cure. I just have a hard time believing that condoms will cure everyone.
Well, yes. And like any other disease, it can and will eventually be fatal. But as long as you take precautions, condoms should be there for you, even if that means breaking the law.
