What I love about this story is the way that it shows how the patient is able to achieve positive change with just a game changer of a hospital. As I’ve written about previously, I’m a big fan of game changer stories and this is one of my favorites. The patient is able to effect positive change in a disease that has been a death sentence for a significant portion of its population.
The reason I love it is because its use of game changers as a metaphor for what can happen when we take our time to make things happen, rather than waiting for the world to “turn”. That’s not to say that it’s any good, but it does make you think.
So, in other news, a new patient that I found on Twitter is the first person to be diagnosed with esophageal cancer. So far there is no cure for this disease, but a lot of people are finding that they are not being treated the way they should.
esophageal cancer is a very rare disease, but a lot of people are getting it now. The good news is that esophageal cancer is treatable if detected early, but it is still very rare. It is usually only diagnosed in older people, and they are usually not being treated with the same level of care as younger people.
In our country the treatment of esophageal cancer is pretty much the same as that of any other cancer. The patient gets an X-ray, they get an endoscopy, they get a biopsy and then if they are a good candidate for surgery they get a second opinion. The majority of these cases are being treated with surgery and chemo, but people are getting this disease now because they are diagnosed relatively late and they are not being treated with the same level of care.
esophageal cancer is a very uncommon form of cancer, but it is one that is still being diagnosed more and more frequently. In 2007, there were an estimated 200,000 new cases. Today that number has jumped to about half a million. Unfortunately, the cancer is not a very common one. In the United States, the age-adjusted incidence of esophageal cancer is only about one in 2,000 people.
Today, the primary treatment for esophageal cancer is surgery, followed by radiation treatment, and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, no one has yet developed a treatment that takes in enough tumors to completely cure the disease. What makes esophageal cancer so difficult to treat is that it originates in the esophagus, which is a tube-shaped organ that passes through the chest. In order to properly treat a cancer, doctors must go in and remove the cancer cells.
In a new study published in the journal Cell, a team of researchers from the University of British Columbia, Johns Hopkins University and The Ohio State University managed to develop a simple and effective method that could prevent cancer patients from ever having a second go at it.
The researchers discovered they could kill the cancer cells by causing them to rupture. In fact, the researchers are the first to successfully use a special kind of nanotechnology to kill cancer cells, which will be on display during the game. In real life, the researchers were able to kill cancer cells by injecting them with a drug that would disrupt a protein that was needed for cell division. The researchers also managed to prevent cancer cells from multiplying in the first place by triggering cell death.
The researchers are now trying to do the same thing with game changer patients. If you, like me, are a patient with esophageal cancer, please remember that you are not alone. The researchers say that they are now focusing on finding ways to provide treatments that kill cancer cells. If this is something that you find difficult to believe, check out our “game changer patient” video to see exactly how this works.
