The truth is, no matter how much you eat, you’re at risk of getting cancer. It’s only because you’re exposed to a lot of chemicals in foods that you can be exposed to cancer. In a lot of ways, eating is like driving. Your car is only as good as the roads and that means some cars can’t go as fast as others.
Eating is like driving in that you need a lot of gas to get from point A to B. But instead of driving 100 miles an hour, driving 100 miles an hour means you have to be more careful about what you eat. To make matters worse, the body is not as efficient as it was in the days of the dinosaurs, so we all have to deal with this constant vigilance.
It’s like being on a cruise ship. The crew has to be on constant alert, especially because the food is always changing. That means one man’s food is another man’s poison. That means that if you eat the same thing every day for a while, every single day, you are going to develop a really bad case of food sensitivities.
My dad has been diagnosed with celiac disease and while this is probably a good thing, the other side of the coin is that he has to be on the lookout for these foods. So if you do eat edibles on a regular basis it might be a good idea to watch out for these things as well.
Okay, so what does it mean to have food sensitivities and food allergies? Well, for starters, your body has an immune system of sorts that fights bacteria and disease. For example, it can be a good idea to eat a lot of raw vegetables, because this is where the problem lies. Raw vegetables are actually quite good for your liver as they are loaded with vitamin and mineral supplements.
It is a little ironic that a lot of people assume that food sensitivities and food allergies are about our diet. The truth is, they are very much about our genetics. When you are genetically predisposed to develop certain diseases, your body will fight those foods that might trigger the disease. So if you are genetically predisposed to have a food allergy or sensitization to certain foods, your body will turn these foods into your bad friends.
The liver is an organ that performs a vital function – filtering hormones from our blood and turning them into nutrients and energy. It’s an extremely effective organ, but if it becomes damaged or even damaged enough, it becomes a “sinkhole” that can cause a wide variety of debilitating conditions. This is a topic that is very well reviewed by many top medical experts, including Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Alan Weiss.
In an article entitled “Eat This”, Dr. Oz talks about how you can prevent liver damage from eating foods that are known to cause damage. He suggests eating meat and fish that are on the FDA “red list” and that are packed with Vitamin A. You can also use the Vitamin C in green tea.
It’s important to note that there is no connection between the liver damage and the consumption of foods that are “red” on the FDA’s list. The problem arises when the liver can no longer process the food (due to damage) and the body then becomes unable to absorb the “good” from the food and instead the body just converts the food into something that is toxic.
The foods that are on the red list are commonly called “red meat.” And the FDA’s list doesn’t include any of the foods that are in my breakfast bag. The reason this is important to keep in mind is because the FDA regulates all foods. The red list is a list of the foods that are too high in fat and are therefore not allowed to be sold in the United States, even if the food is perfectly safe.
