I’ve had my fair share of bipolar episodes, including extreme mood swings and depression. I’ve had to learn how to let go of my anger and sadness, to accept that everyone’s moods are different, and to deal with feelings of hopelessness and hopelessness, especially when my moods get really bad.
So what’s the difference between moods? In a nutshell, when your mood is really, really bad, you are more likely to act in ways that you dont normally would. In other words, you can be “borderline” or “bipolar” if, when your mood is bad, you don’t even try to get back in control.
Bipolar illness is very rare. There are quite a few people who have full blown bipolar disorder, but Ive never come across a case of full on bipolar disorder. However, there are some people who have serious mood swings, and they are quite rare.
There are also some people who have mood swings that are so extreme that they would make their partner, or their own family member, extremely anxious. Some people call it manic depression, and others call it bipolar disorder. This sort of bipolar disorder is very rare. In fact, bipolar disorder is rarer than schizophrenia.
People with this type of mood disorder are very moody, and that moodiness is not always connected to a specific cause, but more of a fluctuation. Generally that moodiness is connected to a specific trigger. For example, you might have a really strong desire to go out and party on a night where you are not going to be able to go out and party, and you are feeling the need to be in control of your mood.
In the case of bipolar disorder, the trigger can be a specific stressor or event in your life. For example, you can have a really strong desire to go out, but if you are going to a party it doesn’t make sense that you would be able to go. So, for example, if you go to a party and you can’t go, then that triggers an over-stimulating and over-acting type of response.
So, while it’s a bit off-putting, I have to admit that being bipolar is a little bit like that. I often feel like my mood swings just because I need to do something, but I want to do something else instead.
If you have bipolar disorder, you can have a difficult time with the idea of going out and doing something because of how extreme your mood swing can get. However, bipolar disorder affects just under half of the mentally ill population (and probably a much higher percentage than you think), so many people with this condition don’t know how to exercise the “power” they feel they have over their moods.
When I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I didn’t know how to exercise my power. I just had no idea. With bipolar disorder though, you can’t just do something because it feels good. Instead, you have to do it because you want to. It’s like wanting a cupcake but having to go to the bakery and get one that tastes like a box of M&Ms.
Bipolar disorder is a very common mood disorder that affects about 1 in 3 adults in the United States. Many of those people turn out not to have the illness, but instead have a condition called mania, which is a manic episode that lasts for days or weeks. This condition is more common among bipolar people (about 2 in 5), but it can be the cause of other mood disorders as well. If you have bipolar, you can’t just take care of yourself.
