Westmore News, along with our sister newspapers in the Tri-state area, covers the surrounding areas of the Keystone State. We cover the surrounding areas of the Keystone State. We bring you the latest news in the area that is not yet covered by other local and regional newspapers. A Westmore News editor was recently in the news because of his decision to publish an interview with a woman who had been arrested for drunk driving.
The interview didn’t do her much good. She was charged with drunken driving, but her lawyer said she would plead to a reduced charge. The judge agreed and sent her to jail. After a few days, the woman was released and her lawyer said he will appeal the charge after the trial. We have no idea whether the charge will be overturned or not, but we can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
Its not even like she’s the first woman to run afoul of the law here. An anonymous woman in Seattle had been arrested for drunk driving and was given a 12-day jail sentence.
She has now been found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. She may appeal the lower charge.
You might think its a slam dunk. If you are a woman it is. If you are a woman of color it is. If you are a woman of any age then you’re probably going to be a woman of color. If you are a woman who is currently incarcerated it is. If you are a woman that is currently incarcerated and you are also a woman of color it is. But that’s not all. There are a lot more complicated legal issues.
Now while the legal issues are complex, this is not a slam dunk. Because if this is a case of first-degree murder, the legal system will not allow you to be tried for it. If you are a woman of color you will not be able to. And if you are a woman that is incarcerated it will not be able to.
The legal issues are complex because this is a death penalty case. But because the death penalty is a capital case, there are other legal issues. For instance, if you are a woman that is incarcerated and you are also a woman of color it is unclear if you are going to be able to get married. And if you are a woman that is incarcerated and you are also a woman of color it is unclear if you are going to be able to get a job.
