This is a great article that covers lymphedema liposuction and the difference between it and other liposuction techniques. It really gives you the knowledge of how to do this procedure and what the best techniques to use are.
I had liposuction for a while now and this article really gives you a good idea on what to expect. For more information on how to liposuction, there are some great articles on my blog that cover everything from exercises to techniques. However, if you want to read about it in depth, I highly recommend watching the Lymphedema YouTube channel.
The procedure is very common and can be a very safe and effective form of liposuction. For those unfamiliar with the term, liposuction is the removal of excess fat and fatty tissue on the head, face, neck, or upper arms. It is usually performed under general anesthesia. A number of other ways to remove fat including by laser, radiofrequency, and radio-frequency ablation can be used as well.
Lymphedema liposuction is typically performed on patients who have a condition called lymphedema, a condition that causes the body’s own fat to accumulate between the layers of the skin. As the affected person’s body continues to enlarge, the excess fat cells are squeezed into the spaces between the blood vessels that supply the skin. This can cause swelling. Lymphatic drainage of the affected area is impaired and this leads to a condition called lymphedema.
This condition is usually diagnosed through an MRI and a CT Scan, where the doctor will make a small incision to expose the affected fatty tissue. There the doctor then uses a needle to cut out the damaged tissue and then uses laser energy to destroy the cells. Some of the patients may also need to have the fat cells removed by laser.
I know what you’re thinking. But you can still feel it with a little touch to the liposuction site. It is actually pretty cool. I have an old friend who had this done because of his massive amount of lymphatic drainage issues. The doctor did a great job. The laser burns don’t seem to bother him, but the incision is a bit of a mess.
The good news about lymphedema is that you can usually do it yourself. If you really want to take your lymph nodes or lymph glands out you can do it by liposuction. But you need to understand that this treatment is not for all people. The pain and swelling that comes with lymphedema isn’t something you want to deal with.
The good news is that lymphedema liposuction is very safe and a quick way to relieve swelling. And if you have lymphedema this helps. But be aware that lymph nodes and lymph glands are not the only things lymphedema can affect, and that the laser treatment can cause more harm than good.
One of the best ways to lessen the swelling is through the use of lymphatic drainage. This is a technique in which lymphatic fluid is pumped out of the area to help clear out clogged glands. The good news is that lymphedema liposuction is also safe, and the most common side effects are only temporary. The bad news is that lymph nodes and lymph glands are not the only thing lymphedema can affect. If you have lymphedema this helps.
Lymph nodes and lymph glands are the largest lymph nodes in your body. These are located on the chest and are part of the lymph system, which is the network of tubes and veins that carry lymph fluid from one part of your body to another. Lymphedema liposuction can cause a decrease in your ability to move lymph fluid through these tubes, which can result in swelling.
