We can’t have a real news channel if we don’t know that something important is going on. We can be afraid that if we don’t know what’s going on, we won’t be able to keep up. Our news channels are filled with rumors, false information, sensationalist headlines, and sensationalist news.
Khmer TV is an example of this. The Khmer News Network is one of the most watched news channels on television in Cambodia. It is a news station that is largely funded by the government. Its chief news anchor Khieu Samphan has a good reputation, but he is also a celebrity with a bit of a scandal. He was fired last year after it was found that he had paid an unnamed Khmer woman a sex tape.
Khieu Samphan is a notorious Khmer News Anchor, so there has been controversy about his firing. However, the real controversy has been the pay that he received. The Cambodian government has been criticized for paying him a salary that amounts to about half a million dollars, which is more than four times what he was earning before his dismissal.
So if you’re a Khmer news anchor and you’re going to receive a salary that amounts to about four times more than what you were earning before your dismissal, something’s wrong. Khieu Samphan was not getting $4 million a year. And, as it turns out, he was getting a $500k per month pay cut. The Khmer government is so desperate to save money that they have no intention of paying their own people what they’re due.
And Khieu Samphan has a reason for wanting a 500k per month salary, despite the fact that he is the country’s most-wanted criminal. It’s because in a country where the government gets to keep all their employees on salary, Khieu is able to buy a house and retire at the age of 57. And, as it happens, he gets to keep that house.
This is the second time Ive written about this topic, but I think it bears repeating. Khieu Samphan was the most wanted man in Cambodia, but because he made money smuggling arms and drugs, he was stripped of all his powers. Which is why he was given the power to choose his new identity, Khieu Samphan. This means that he can now walk into any grocery store, buy a can of soda, and take it home to his wife.
This is a cool idea, and it would be cool if it worked, but it doesn’t. Khieu can’t actually move objects at his own speed. He does have a few special powers however, and he can call various objects for him, but it seems that they’re not very good for him. As a result, he is slow, clumsy, unreliable, and a bit of a liability. He also seems to have a very small brain.
Not cool, not cool, not cool.
Khieu is the first of the Khmer Rouge’s leaders to be executed by his own people. The other two have been assassinated, and their families have been executed, so Khieu is the only one left.
Khieu has been a bit of a misnomer over the years, as he is not actually a Rouge. While the Khmer Rouges are known as the Khmer Rouge, most of them were actually part of a separate group that was originally a part of the Khmer empire. In Cambodia, they were known as the Khmer Rouge, and in fact, the last one to be executed in Cambodia was the Khmer Rouge.
