On August 31st, 2017, we were blessed to have a bumper-to-bumper traffic day in downtown kentucky. I felt like an idiot for not paying attention to traffic at all.
Sure, there was a lot of traffic, but not as many as you would be expecting. We had to wait for the first few weeks of August to get back from the holiday break, and even then we had to wait an extra week to get to our usual weekend opening day.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t remember the last time I had so many traffic incidents in one week. Traffic often seems to bring out the worst in drivers, but in this case it was probably just because I was driving so slowly.
Traffic usually brings out the worst in drivers. One of the reasons we’re able to get things done around the office is that our drivers are generally pretty good. I’ve seen many drivers try to pass me in traffic, but their eyes never locked when they saw I had the right lane, so they never had to slow down. I think it’s just a matter of practice.
I think the reason Ive been so annoyed by car traffic lately is that the people behind the wheel are just so damn slow. My favorite example of this is in the news. Here’s a great example from the last week. A man in his 50s died in a car crash in southern kentucky. I know this is just a tragic example, but it does show how people are so damn slow.
The man in the car was on a motorcycle. It was a very dangerous situation to be in. When a motorcycle crashes into another vehicle, the momentum can send the rider flying through the air. Sometimes the motorcycle goes airborne and the rider is thrown into the air. This is a very bad thing because he was not wearing a helmet. The man was ejected into the air and ended up hitting a tree. This is bad because he was not wearing a helmet.
A bad thing, a bad thing, a bad thing, and so on. Sometimes it seems like a car can crash into a tree. You know what I mean? The car goes airborne and lands on an oncoming motorcycle.
The first time I was in a car accident, I remember the doctor pulling my shoulder out of my socket and trying to say “I’m sorry” in my ear. It was only because you could already hear the doctor say “I’m sorry” that I didn’t go through the whole thing.
I did not crash into a tree. I hit a tree with a truck. The truck I hit is made of super-strong titanium, and the tree that I hit is not. That’s pretty awesome.
