The world economy is in a state of flux. When the world economy is in flux, the economic news that comes out of it can be a little confusing. From the markets to the way people spend their cash, the world economy is never quite the same.
What does this means for kids? Well, it’s something that parents will have to deal with. Kids who aren’t in school can go to work during the summer and earn money for school supplies. Kids who are in school can go to work during the school year and earn money for school supplies. Kids in both situations can work at the same time.
I’ve talked about this before in this article and I’ll talk more about it after I get to the story of what kids are working for their allowance.
I hope it gives you some ideas for how you can spend your summer this year. If you have any questions about the article feel free to leave them in the comments. Also feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed. It’s cool seeing your comments on the site.
Its good to see that kids are doing something well with their summer. I know I do. My dad works in marketing and we get to do some cool stuff.
The economic news is a little less cool and a little more depressing. Although this summer is starting off better for kids than the previous two years, it could be getting even worse. The Dow is down more than 35% in the last five months, and while the U.S. economy is doing pretty well overall the recession is still hurting people. In fact, the recession is now the biggest drag on America’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) so far since the great recession.
It is a fact that the Dow has lost more than two-thirds of its value since the start of the recession, but it is also true that it is getting back to normal. In fact, the Dow is back below its peak value of 14,000 back in March of 2008. The Dow is now down 20% from its peak since April of 2008, but it has risen just under 30% since the start of the recession.
The Dow has lost about 18% of its value during the recession. It was down about 21% in 2007, and down about 20% overall since the start of the recession. It is now back up to what it was at the end of the recession.
I think the Dow’s strength as a measure of the economic health of our country is largely due to the strength of corporations. But it is also true that it is also getting back to normal. The Dow is now just under $15,000 after the recession, and is up to $14,500 now. It is back down about $1,000 since the start of the recession.
That’s very good news indeed, but for kids it is good news for now as well. As the economy improves, it’s going to get better for them. It is a bit like a Christmas present, especially now that kids have so many more toys to play with.
