I recently returned from a week in New York City where I spent some time with the dinathanthi community. This community of over 1,200 people live in a small rural town in the Hudson Valley of New York. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity of meeting so many amazing people, enjoying a delicious meal, and seeing the community in action. What I have experienced is so amazing I can’t even begin to describe it.
The dinathanthi live are a unique and interesting group. As I sat down for dinner at their home, we were seated in an open yard at the edge of a field. A few of their guests were still out there watching the sunset. We began chatting and talking about the future of the community, the challenges that they faced, and how they felt about the way they are being treated. We all expressed our love for this community and our desire to see it succeed.
