I love costco’s newport news, so when I found out they were going to start serving newport news to shoppers in the newport area, I immediately ordered it. I was not disappointed.
I didn’t know it until this morning, but Costco is owned by Costco and has been around for a while. Costco has never offered a newport news sandwich, but now they’re offering their own, and they will be making some changes to their standard sandwich offerings. They are also changing how they’re serving the sandwich because they’re getting rid of their bacon, which is their signature sandwich ingredient.
The new Costco sandwich is being made by the same people who make their famous chicken sandwich. The same people who have a habit of putting a bacon topping on everything. Costco, like many big box stores is a brand that is becoming more and more of a niche company. It can be hard to get a decent taco at the local Taco Bell, but Costco is going to make the taco experience even better for anyone who just likes to have some good tacos.
This is a very serious business. When Costco announced they were launching a new line of sandwiches they didn’t even mention the price of the new sandwich. They did mention it was 100% organic, fresh from the counter, and it came in a carry-out box. So if you don’t like that kind of thing, you’re likely going to be disappointed.
Costco has been known to surprise us with new products and new flavors, but this time around the company has really gone for the jugular with their new sandwich. They have announced the “Costco Original” which is a very simple and traditional sandwich, made from white flour, cheddar, tomato, lettuce, and mayo. It costs $5.99. The costco original’s sister sandwich, the costco extra, has added avocado to the mix and costs $5.99.
I think the best thing about these new sandwiches is that they’re really cheap. While it’s true that they’re made entirely from white flour, cheddar, and mayo, they actually use bread and ingredients that are inexpensive. The only thing that cost extra is the cheddar and mayo.
The one thing that cost extra, however, is the avocado. I know that sounds like a weird thing to charge for but I found out the hard way the other day that adding avocado to a sandwich is not as simple as it looks. After a few weeks of eating this sandwich I learned that this avocado is actually quite detrimental to your health (which is why I am not recommending it). If you want to get your avocado fix, try to avoid these sandwich and eat it in moderation.
If you’re the type who prefers to eat things that are less-than-healthy, I understand. I just find it kind of strange that the costco store is putting an entire ingredient on the menu, when you can easily just add a little bit of mayo to your sandwich and it’ll be fine. I’m actually curious to know how many other stores are charging the avocado for a single item.
Apparently they’re charging it for more than just mayo. It’s a “healthy” ingredient. But like I said, I dont like it. Just look at the ingredients on the menu.
That said, I do feel like there is something more to costco’s business here. I feel like theyre trying to compete with their bigger, better-known competitors like TJ Maxx. Theyre also trying to be more open to a wider variety of foods.
