On August 1st, a memorial service for Danville resident Donald G. Miller was held at the First Christian Church. Mr. Miller died of cancer on July 11, 2013 at the age of 66. He graduated from Danville High School in 1962.
Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and an avid hunter. He was a member of the Church of the Creator. His obituary states, “He was known for his kindness, humor and kindness to others. He was a man of many talents and accomplishments. He was a fine athlete and played baseball, basketball, and football at Danville High School.
In a statement on the obituary, Danville High School Principal Jim Hines said: “Mr. Miller was a man of great character, who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His kindness to all will be forever appreciated by all who knew him.
Danville’s obituary also hints at some serious health issues. After his death, Danville’s mother, Mary Miller, a former Danville High School athletic coach, said that her husband, Dan, had been battling heart disease for years. She said, “He had been sick for a long time, and in his last months he had been doing very poorly in many ways. He was taking a lot of medication to help him with his heart condition.
His mother also said that he had been in and out of hospitals with what looked like a heart attack and that he died at his home.
He was also in and out of the hospital with a kidney failure, and he had a heart transplant just over a year ago, but this is apparently the first time that he has had a transplant. He was also struggling with depression and had been smoking a lot of pot.
It’s possible that he is not actually dead, but that he is very close to dying, and that he has been given the chance to live. This is known as an organ donation, and he is on the list that can get him to someone who can step in and take his place. In the movie, Danville, it’s revealed that he is in fact alive and well and very happy, but he doesn’t have a long-term health plan.
Danville is actually a city in the southern part of the country, and was formerly known as Danville, Michigan.
