the game is set in the distant future, and the characters are in post-apocalyptic society. When the apocalypse hits, people are evacuated to Blackreef, a huge island in the middle of the ocean. The island has been overrun by undead, who have set up colonies, creating an ecosystem of undead and undead-human hybrids called vampirism.
When the world ends, the vampirism colony expands into every corner of Blackreef, growing to the point where they can’t live as they please. The vampirism are not evil, they just want to live like humans, so they take over the island’s human inhabitants and turn them into vampirists. They spread throughout the island, and if you’re not careful, they can turn you into one too.
As we’ve seen in other trailers, Blackreef is basically a giant open-world where you can take over entire cities. You can go on the moon, go into space, go into a cave, go into a forest, into an aquarium, into an elevator, into any building in the world. The difference between this new trailer and other trailers is that it is more subtle and shows off a few new details that I don’t normally see in other trailers.
